Yesterday we went on a day hike. The hike was in Huascaran National Park and the scenery was gorgeous. We had all types of weather: rain, sun, snow, wind. Our destination was a lake named Laguna 69, at 4600 meters (about 15,000 ft). So the adjustment to altitude was interesting. When we got there we were treated to the magnificent turquoise blue color of the lake. And on the way down the weather improved and we got a good view of a couple of the towering peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. I took a ton of pictures, so here are a few of the good ones.
Brian and Kim reached the end of the hike. Que bonito!

Kim, I love the picture of you at end. :) Way to trek!
Am feeling furious with myself for not keeping up regularly with your blog. It's fabulous!!! Will definitely be looking at it daily from now on, it's on my list of favorites.
Okay-- and, now, why did they pull the plug on the directing job in Cuzco? Am I spelling that right? Probably not. Can't even spell e. Er, y.
Also, p.s. You guys have some seriously cute pictures together. :) The lake one is beautiful and muy smily, and the closer one of you two with the city in the background is muy cute also. Muy, um, bonita? Yes. Muy.
Kim,
I just have to say the picture with the lake is beautiful! I have always thought Crater Lake is one of the most beautiful places in the US. I am glad you get to see the beautiful places around the world, and thanks for sharing them with us.
Be safe and have fun!

Happy Birthday Brian! It's fun to read and view about the adventures you and Kim are having. Your photographs are phenomenal! The lake behind the two of you is the most gorgeous hue of blue, it makes me want to just dive right in! It does look a bit cold though....
Keep us posted on how you celebrate your birthday!
Stay safe!
